KeriMedical:
Market leader in thumb arthritis treatment

KeriMedical SA is a Geneva-based medical device company specialising in implants and prostheses for hand and wrist surgery, with a particular focus on the treatment of thumb arthritis. Founded in 2016 by Bernard Prandi and Dougal Bendjaballah, the company was established to address a gap in innovation and surgical education in hand surgery — an area historically underserved by larger orthopaedic manufacturers. Its portfolio targets rhizarthrosis, a condition affecting a significant proportion of the population over 40, offering total joint arthroplasty solutions that preserve joint anatomy and function compared to traditional surgical approaches. Surgeon training is central to KeriMedical's strategy, with its KeriAcademy facility in Archamps, France, having trained more than 600 surgeons since 2017. The company operates two production facilities in France, supporting research and development, manufacturing, logistics, and training under an integrated model. With average annual sales growth of 30% in recent years and considerable market expansion potential across Europe, KeriMedical is a well-positioned, high-growth specialist in upper extremity surgery.

NeoOrtho:
Making surgical solutions more accessible

NeoOrtho (NeoOrtho Produtos Ortopédicos S.A.) is a Brazilian manufacturer of orthopaedic implants and surgical solutions, headquartered in Curitiba, Paraná, and specialising in trauma, craniomaxillofacial, spinal, and customised prosthetic devices. Founded in 2004 as a spin-off from Neodent, a dental implant company established by Dr Geninho Thomé, NeoOrtho has grown into an independent brand with a portfolio of more than 14,000 SKUs and a dedicated manufacturing facility. The company's core focus is on making reliable surgical solutions accessible to a broader population through competitive pricing, with approximately 75% of the Brazilian orthopaedic market served through public hospital tenders. NeoOrtho's local production footprint provides a strategic advantage for expansion across the Mercosul trade bloc, and the company currently serves markets in Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador, Argentina, Colombia, and Guatemala. On 17 March 2025, Medartis Holding AG acquired a 51% controlling stake in NeoOrtho, with a clear pathway to reach 100% ownership by 2028/29. Under a dual-brand strategy, both companies will continue to operate independently, with NeoOrtho's value-segment positioning complementing Medartis' premium-focused portfolio across key growth markets.
