Designed to perform.

MODUS 2 Midface offers a wide selection of anatomical and indication-specific plate designs for trauma repair, fixation of maxillary osteotomies and reconstructive procedures in the midface.

Comprehensive system

Wide selection of plate designs for more treatment flexibility.

Latest technology

HexaDrive - self-holding technology, SpeedTip - self-drilling technology, cortical screws with threaded neck for improved insertion.

Easy handling

Uniform colour concept for clear identification of drills and screws. All screws are compatible with all plates, only one screwdriver blade.

3D mesh design

Flexible and malleable 3D mesh design allows for exact shaping of the plate to the anatomy of the bone.

Products

L and Z Plates

Highlights

  • Extra long L and Z plates for larger defects on the nasal and zygomatic pillar

  • Plate design to address thick enough bone stock

Mesh

Highlights

  • Two adjacent rounded corners for size 50 x 50 mm

  • Two plate sizes, each featuring three different plate thicknesses

  • Low profile height: 0.25 mm / 0.4 mm / 0.6 mm

  • The plate design allows countersinking of the screw head

  • Compatible with all screw diameters in MODUS 2 Midface

Orbital Plating System OPS

Highlights

  • Implants made from flexible pure titanium enable exact anatomical reconstruction of the orbital structure

  • Low profile height of 0.35 mm and 0.4 mm

  • 3D mesh design based on orbital topology

  • Additional stabilization bars

  • Possible application for orbital floor and wall defects

  • 4 different implant geometries covering all fractures of categories I – IV

The science behind.

  • Long‑term evaluation of treatment protocols for isolated midfacial fractures in a German nation‑wide craniomaxillofacial trauma center 2007–2017
Lars Bonitz, Vivienne Wruck, Elena Peretti, Dietmar Abel, Stefan Hassfeld, Ákos Bicsák
    2021
    Nature scientific reports

Bonitz et al. evaluated in a long-term retrospective analysis all cases of midfacial trauma at their centre in Dortmund (3474 fractures in 11 years). Treatment protocols were also evaluated, as well as safety and efficacy. Medartis products were found to be safe and efficient.

    2012
    The Laryngoscope

Lieger et al. retrospectively analyzed in a pilot study the use of orbital floor plates in 27 patients. Good results were obtained (no diplopia, and other complications), however, buckling of the posterior rim of the plate was observed in 2 cases, resulting in a Re-OP.

Designed to simplify.

Mesh Cutting Pliers

  • The mesh cutting pliers can cut any type of mesh.
  • The cutting process rounds off the cut edge.

Orbital retractors

  • Three orbital retractors are available in the MODUS 2 Midface OPS to protect the orbital soft tissue and to determine the size of the defect.
  • The orbital retractors are available in left, right and neutral designs, and all feature a small and a large retractor end.
  • The shape and size of the retractor ends are tailored to the design of the MODUS 2 Midface orbital floor plates.

Versatile bending pliers

One pair of pliers with three different functions:

  • Flat nose pliers with holding function
  • Bending the plate outside of the plane with the jaws
  • Bending the plate within the plane with the “Aderer function”

Designed to organize.

  • One system for all indications
  • Compact system
  • Easy to use
  • Clearly organized storage of implants and instruments
  • Validated cleaning and sterilization of the implants in the container
