Nature scientific reports

Bonitz et al. evaluated in a long-term retrospective analysis all cases of midfacial trauma at their centre in Dortmund (3474 fractures in 11 years). Treatment protocols were also evaluated, as well as safety and efficacy. Medartis products were found to be safe and efficient.

Lieger et al. retrospectively analyzed in a pilot study the use of orbital floor plates in 27 patients. Good results were obtained (no diplopia, and other complications), however, buckling of the posterior rim of the plate was observed in 2 cases, resulting in a Re-OP.

Orbital retractors

Three orbital retractors are available in the MODUS 2 Midface OPS to protect the orbital soft tissue and to determine the size of the defect.
The orbital retractors are available in left, right and neutral designs, and all feature a small and a large retractor end.
The shape and size of the retractor ends are tailored to the design of the MODUS 2 Midface orbital floor plates.
